Information about creating and submitting sitemaps
Author: Suman // Category:Well if you dont know what a site map is, then here is a brief introduction to it
In general, there are two types of sitemaps.
- The first type of sitemap is a HTML page listing the pages of your site - often by section - and is meant to help users.
- XML Sitemaps - usually called Sitemaps, are a way for you to give Google information about your site. In its simplest terms, a Sitemap is a list of the pages on your website.
- Creating and submitting a Sitemap helps make sure that Google knows about all the pages on your site, including URLs that have errors.
Sitemaps are very helpful particularly when your blog or website has
- Flash content or Ajax code.(Because bots find difficult to crawl through these pages)
- If your site is new, then googlebot will have a difficult time to find your blog...so submitting sitemaps will help googlebots
- Your site has a large archive of content pages that are not well linked to each other, or are not linked at all
